The Current Challenges

  • In the healthcare sector, including hospitals, clinics, and diagnostic laboratories, there is a pressing demand for efficient, accurate, and rapid diagnostic tools, particularly for managing potential infectious diseases and AMR.
  • There is also a growing demand for AST solutions in food safety, and environmental monitoring.
Our Innovation and Breakthrough
  • Our Microfluidic system is capable of analysing drug-resistance profile of pathogens within 3 hours, providing the quickest results among any reported methods.
  • The system is applicable even in resource-limited settings. It is affordable and easy to use without the need for sophisticated equipment.
  • This AST system is designed to provide a sample-to-answer solution that can be used on-site. This method is fully automatic and does not require a microscope. The results can be easily captured and analysed using a cell phone.
  • The patented technology can process large numbers of samples quickly and provide initial screening results for drug-resistant pathogens.

The Impact

The Platforms are affordable, portable, high-throughput, and user-friendly, making it a promising tool in the fight against antimicrobial resistance. It also has the potential to be used on a large scale in resource-limited situations, such as for frequent safety screenings of water, food, and public facilities.
