The 2023-24 Budget Leaping Forward Steadily Together We Bolster Prosperity under Our New Vision

To develop Hong Kong into an international I&T centre and make contributions to the realisation of the country’s long-range objective of becoming one of the top innovative nations in the world, the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region continues to support and place importance on innovation and technology to promote high-quality development. These initiatives include speeding up the process of digital economy development in Hong Kong through in-depth studies, allocating funds to expedite the Web3 ecosystem development and establishing Hong Kong as an International GreenTech and GreenFi Centre. In addition, the Government will actively pool the efforts of Government, industry, academic and research sectors to commercialise research and development results. There will be enhanced support for development of life technology, AI and microelectronics research, as well as nurturing start-ups and promoting new industrialisation.
