Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) has embarked on a new chapter of technological innovation by joining forces with the Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park (HSITP). The pivotal moment was witnessed by esteemed figures including Mr. John Lee, Chief Executive of HKSAR; Mr. Michael Wong, Acting Financial Secretary of HKSAR; and Prof. Sun Dong, Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry of HKSAR.
HKBU solidified its commitment to technological advancement by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park Limited today. This MoU symbolises a shared vision to explore collaboration to establish a technology translation centre focused on the development of Chinese medicine and art technology. Additionally, the agreement outlines plans for collaboration on talent development and exchange programs, as well as support for technology start-ups and entrepreneurs through incubation and acceleration initiatives.
Situated in the Lok Ma Chau Loop and jointly led by the HKSAR Government and the Shenzhen Municipal People's Government, the HSITP strives to be a hub for scientific research and innovation. In the first batch some 60 world-class enterprises, academia and research institutes from the mainland, Hong Kong and around the world have partnered with HSITP, including HKBU. The University’s involvement in the HSITP marks a significant step towards fostering technological excellence and collaboration on an international scale.
