The Institute for Innovation, Translation and Policy Research (ITPR) at Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) participated as a supporting unit in the "Comic Gravity – Hong Kong Comics and Deep Skills" exhibition, co-organised by the Sham Shui Po District Office and the Jockey Club Creative Arts Centre (JCCAC). This initiative aims to promote the integration of local cultural creativity and technologies. The exhibition, which launched on 30 November at JCCAC, showcased the diverse facets of Hong Kong's cultural and artistic landscape through three main themes: "Hong Kong Comics", "Toys", and "Technology". The exhibit guided the public from an understanding of early local cultural arts towards the future developments in art and technology in Hong Kong, while exploring the concept of " New Quality Productive Forces " in conjunction with artistic pursuits.

The officiating guest, Sham Shui Po District Officer Mr Paul Wong, expressed support for the exhibition and acknowledged its significance, stating that it not only revives classic Hong Kong comic culture but also establishes a dialogue platform between art and technology.

During the event, Mr Raymond Chan, Assistant Director (Entrepreneurship) of ITPR, highlighted the HKBU Art Tech Incubation Hub CHRYSALIS located at JCCAC, showcasing how the hub supports immersive art, artificial intelligence (AI) generation technology, and digital interactive creation through high-tech equipment. He emphasised, "The incubation hub is dedicated to nurturing young creative talents, promoting the integration of 'New Quality Productive Forces' with art, and injecting innovative momentum into industry upgrades." The exhibition area attracted numerous visitors, providing cutting-edge art and technology experiences, encouraging innovative thinking, and inspiring young creators to explore the possibilities of future art.

Throughout the exhibition, multiple talks were held, featuring speakers such as former Deputy Director of the HKBU Academy of Film Mr Norman Chan; Film and Advertising Producer, Director, and Screenwriter Mr Steve Chan; HKBU Assistant Professor of the Academy of Visual Arts and Founder of Space and Place Limited Ms Pat Wong; and HKBU Assistant Professor of the Academy of Visual Arts and founder of Space and Place Limited Mr Kachi Chan. They engaged with attendees and students to discuss the future development of AI and share insights on digital storytelling and dynamic imaging technology. This event deepens the public's understanding of art innovation through a retrospective of classic Hong Kong comics and modern technological displays, further solidifying the Institute's role as a bridge connecting academia and the community.
