HKBU professors to address food safety with technology at the 16th China International Food Safety & Quality Conference

HKBU has been the supporter to the 16th China International Food Safety & Quality (CIFSQ) Conference 2022 – a two-day international conference held in Shanghai. During the conference, Prof. Terence Lau, HKBU's Interim Chief Innovation Officer, co-chaired a plenary panel discussion namely "Advancing Food Safety Through Partnership" with Mr. Yves Rey, Independent Senior Advisor to Industry Leaders, former Danone Corporate General Manager. They facilitated a fruitful discussion on how garnering efforts from stakeholders to tackle the global challenges on food safety, with the experts from the government, industry and university including European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) and Food Standards Australia New Zealand.

During the breakout "Applications of New Analytical Technology & Data Analytics", Prof. Zhu Furong, Department of Physics, HKBU shared a presentation on “Traceable Fruit Quality Detection Technology and IoT Solution" that he proposed a smart agriculture in IoT solution combined with detection component, algorithm, and cloud technology.
