Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) in conjunction with the Wuxi-Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Center hosted a project matching session on 27 June to foster exchange and collaboration in innovation and technology by establishing a platform for both parties to share the latest research projects for matching, and formulate strategic plans for collaboration.

Mr. Sen Lin, Head of Wuxi-Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Center kicked off the meeting by sharing the center’s goals and development. Mr. Raymond Chan, Assistant Director (Entrepreneurship) of Institute for Innovation, Translation and Policy Research of HKBU, remarked with thanks to the support from Wuxi-Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Center and introduced the latest research developments at HKBU. Other participants include Mr. Norman Chan, Associate Director, and Mr. Gilbert Po, Associate Professor of Practice, Academy of Film of HKBU to join the exchanges and discussions.

During the project matchmaking, over 10 HKBU startups in the fields of biotechnology, biomedicine, new materials, and artificial intelligence shared their research achievements. This paved the way for future collaboration by translating their technologies for industrial applications.

HKBU and the Center signed a strategic cooperation agreement in March this year, and HKBU was awarded as "Industrial-University Research Collaboration Base". Both parties would continue to work together to promote the exchange and cooperation between Wuxi and Hong Kong, and accelerate the transformation of research outcomes. These collaborative efforts support and put forward the HKSAR Government’s innovation and technology development strategy and the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area International Innovation and Technology Hub under the "National Fourteenth Five-year Plan" (“the 14-5 Plan”).
