5 Aug, 2024

The Institute for Innovation, Translation and Policy Research (ITPR) organised a sharing session titled "Mastering Fundraising: Venture Capitalist Tips for Startups" on August 2, 2024. Mr Lap Man, Co-founder & Managing Partner of Beyond Ventures, was invited to share his expert advice with HKBU entrepreneurs on navigating the fundraising landscape for start-ups.

From the perspective of a seasoned venture capitalist, Mr Man underscored the factors to be taken into consideration when securing investments including fund life and fund size. During the panel discussion moderated by Mr Raymond Chan, Assistant Director (Entrepreneurship) of ITPR, Mr Man offered his insights into some commonly asked questions by startups including valuation and key strategies to accelerate the fundraising progress. The discussion also dived into the characteristics of successful RAISe+ Scheme applications.

The fruitful sharing session has equipped HKBU entrepreneurs with insider knowledge and practical guidance to achieve their funding goals and to better master their plans to participate in the next RAISe+ Scheme.
